About the role

Role Summary

The Production Scheduler in Dunlap, Tennessee, is responsible for efficiently planning plant production, coordinating with various departments, monitoring adherence to schedules, and ensuring materials are available for timely shipment.

Main Tasks

  • Evaluate customer demand and firm up planned orders in SAP to maintain accurate data.
  • Create weekly and daily production schedules to meet customer needs and enhance efficiency.
  • Establish priorities for production runs and maintain old planned orders in SAP.
  • Participate in weekly headcount calculations and overtime meetings for production planning.
  • Monitor production adherence to schedule and reschedule if necessary to support customers.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the production floor to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Coordinate closely with material planners to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with the shipping department to facilitate on-time shipments.
  • Participate in new product introductions and maintain communication with the production team.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and perform other assigned duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments and adapt to fast-paced work environments.
  • Operate standard office equipment and ensure adherence to company policies and safety rules.

Your Profile

Education:

  • Associates degree, related business degree, or equivalent education and experience.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of production planning experience.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including:
    • Ability to manipulate data using pivot tables.
    • Ability to export data, consolidate, and summarize data.
    • Troubleshoot common worksheet problems.
    • Proficient use of functions to maximize Excel's capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SAP ERP system.
  • 3 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of heijunka production leveling and related production visual management systems.
