Key Responsibilities:

You will be an acquisition specialist developing and delivering innovative and streamlined acquisition strategies for the research, development, testing, sustainment, and future planning in support of the Integrated Operations Network (ION) program in the Global Mission Data Dominance portfolio.    The purpose of ION is to connect USSF operational networks, enabling USSPACECOM and Space Operations Command to optimize C2 and decision making.   You will work with acquirers, operators, adjacent programs and enterprise functionals to craft novel acquisition and contracting approaches under the Software Acquisition Pathway (SWAP).  You will also:  translate technical information and apply critical thinking toward communications technology improvements and integration of networks to strengthen our space systems and enable mission success; assist acquisition planning and development of technical requirements and documents; support and advise acquisition and mission integration functions; advise the senior government leaders on program challenges and support system program reviews.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Los Angeles Air Force Base
  • Travel Requirements: 15% or Less Minimal Travel
  • Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week

Qualifications:

This position requires support to Senior Material Leaders (SMLs), MLs and other acquisition professionals across Space Systems Command and USSF.  We are seeking a highly skilled acquisition and integration specialist, who thrives under pressure and who is passionate about space, technology, and communication and can navigate the challenges that come with them.

In addition to being highly proficient in the acquisition and Integration field, our ideal candidate is creative, organized, highly collaborative, able to influence peers, has foresight, and interacts comfortably with senior leadership across the government and private industry.  An individual who can comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring the overall program is properly coordinated and efficiently accomplished with the best available resources, is also strongly desired.

Required:

  • Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • 10+ years of acquisition experience
  • Bachelors in STEM preferred; MA/MS preferred
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Fluent with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
  • Experience in database and repository tools (SharePoint, Livelink, Excel, Access and Task Management Tracker)
  • Understanding/experience with Air Force and USSF acquisition regulations, guidance, and activities (milestones, planning, programming, budget and execution requirements)
  • Experience working within an agile project and acquisition framework
  • Understanding of latest SSC, Space Force, and DoD directives and initiatives
  • Understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process
  • Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.
  • Strong ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans and document

Desired:

  • Experience working with various Higher Headquarters located at the Pentagon; Peterson SFB, CO; Buckley SFB, CO; and/or Los Angeles AFB, CA
  • Familiarity with SSC missions and communications / antenna programs
  • PMP Certification
  • Advanced degree in Program/Project Management
  • Strong ability to translate highly technical content into thoughtful, compelling, and effective communication products in suppor
