Overall Purpose

This role is responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing data and analytics applications within the organization. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), this position ensures that the applications are aligned with current business needs and are effectively utilized by end-users.

Essential Functions

  • Act as the primary administrator and owner of assigned application(s).
  • Provide system and application support to employees, troubleshoot issues, and oversee escalations if needed, maintaining ownership until resolution.
  • Design the application(s) to align with business requirements and enable integration with other systems.
  • Establish best practices for application management, security, and performance optimization.
  • Propose and lead automation efforts, utilizing scripts and other tools to streamline processes.
  • Implement solutions to address specific business or operational needs.
  • Research and assess third-party applications to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Configure, document, and support third-party applications as needed.
  • Analyze and resolve application incidents, working closely with vendors for product support.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Define and monitor key metrics, KPIs, and SLAs with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and validate upgrades and patches provided by vendors.
  • Monitor license usage, forecast needs, and manage procurement requests for additional licenses as necessary.
  • Process application configuration change requests.
  • Maintain application roadmaps and collaborate with leadership to prioritize development.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on status and progress.
  • Oversee projects to enhance application functionality, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and training.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Drive user adoption through training and promotion of best practices.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with vendors to resolve issues and advocate for new features to support business needs.
  • Uphold the company’s commitment to system integrity and data confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience as an application administrator in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience with data-oriented applications like Tableau, Business Objects, or Infoburst.
  • Familiarity with database applications (e.g., MSSQL, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction across all management levels.
  • General familiarity with office productivity tools such as Windows OS, MS Office, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of applications like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, and Workday.
  • Proven experience in supporting vendor-provided applications as an admin.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Background and drug screening required.
