Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Senior Clinical Advisor (SCA) collaborates to provide continuity of patient care by ensuring adequate resources are available on a shift-to-shift basis. The SCA collaborates with the health care team to plan and coordinate the timely admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. The SCA is clinically proficient and supports the staff in the delivery of patient care to assist in throughput. The SCA collaborates with other members of nursing leadership to create an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and the delivery of safe, high quality patient care. The SCA actively participates in Quality Improvement processes and acts as a clinical role model for staff by supporting evidenced based practice models. The SCA demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional growth and development.
What you will do:
- Senior Clinical Advisor will assist with the hiring and firing of staff, judging competency of staff, assuming budgetary responsibility.
- Supports staff in the delivery of patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner to patients of all ages
- Assist Nurse Manager in managing staff productivity and compliance with policies related to budgeted hours by holding staff accountable for completing work within scheduled timeframes
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred) with current Connecticut Registration.
- BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Nursing Assistant, Clerical Coordinator, or Unit Secretary experience in an Acute Inpatient setting is preferred.
Schedule Expectations:
This is a full-time salaried position with a standard Monday to Friday day shift. However, flexibility is key in this role. While the core hours typically fall during the day, there may be times when we require staff to come in early, stay later, or adjust schedules to meet the needs of the team. We value adaptability and the ability to pivot as necessary to support the business.
