Zayo is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager to lead our Network Monitoring and Telemetry initiatives at Zayo. The Senior Manager, Network Monitoring and Telemetry is crucial in enhancing our network performance, security, and efficiency through advanced monitoring and telemetry solutions. The ideal candidate will enable the network with cutting edge technology improving access, security, and visibility inline with Zayo’s operational standards, ultimately reducing expenses and improving network reliability and availability.
Responsibilities:
Network Telemetry Deployment
Spearhead the implementation of network telemetry systems across our infrastructure.
Improve technician connectivity within Zayo facilities.
Ensure seamless integration of telemetry solutions with existing network systems.
Environmental Monitoring
Oversee the deployment of environmental monitoring systems in network facilities.
Implement proactive measures to prevent environmental-related network disruptions.
Analyze environmental data to optimize facility operations and network performance.
Physical Security Enhancement
Design and implement physical security measures across controlled/owned locations.
Coordinate with security teams to ensure comprehensive protection of network assets.
Develop protocols for access control and monitoring of sensitive areas.
Fiber Monitoring Expansion
Lead the ongoing fiber monitoring deployment across owned metro and longhaul network.
Implement cutting-edge fiber monitoring technologies to improve network reliability.
Develop strategies for quick detection and localization of fiber cuts or degradations.
Performance Optimization
Reduce access escort costs through improved digital access technologies.
Enhance alarm visibility and response times across the network.
Decrease Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) for fiber cuts and environmental events.
Develop and track KPIs to measure the success of monitoring and telemetry initiatives.
Leadership
Maintain regular reporting on team member performance, providing coaching and feedback to ensure productivity and quality goals are met.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on facility management and maintenance.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems (rectifiers, generators), and site maintenance practices. Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets for large-scale projects.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Base Salary Range: $108,500 - $155,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
