Job Description

This role is part of Jellyfish Technology Solutions: a global team of 100+ engineers & product specialists within Jellyfish in charge of building our set of proprietary technologies & SaaS solutions like Reeport, Seelk, Myposeo, and Vivid.

Our mission is to build a suite of analytics, automation, and workflow software across the digital ecosystem to drive performance, consistency, or scalability. Our technologies include advertising automation, eCommerce analytics, generative AI, market share modelling, and more.

We are organised in 7 fully functional product squads responsible for the delivery of our suites (Creative, Media, Data, Commerce). Two transverse teams support the global squads: DevOps/Cloud Engineering and UX/UI.

We're looking for a highly-qualified software engineer to help us develop the company's solutions for managing and exploiting data to create value. These solutions can take several forms: web application, data collection pipeline, architecture design, etc.

You will contribute to the development of our web applications and data solutions. 

Our technology stack primarily revolves around Python language, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate should be passionate about software development and have a strong inclination towards test-driven development. 

Your missions as a backend software engineer

• Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and maintain our web applications and data solutions.
• Implement and optimise data collection pipelines to ensure efficient data processing and storage.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into existing systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to data solutions.
• Helping the least qualified developers to upgrade their skills

Qualifications

You have a Bachelor's, master's, or engineering degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

You have at least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably working on data-related projects. You have experience and proven skills in software design and architecture. You have strong knowledge and experience in Python. You're used to working with cloud infrastructures and containerized environments.

Quality-driven

A Test-first approach is important to you. You pay attention to best practices in code quality and in code review.

Problem solver

You're a pragmatic, solution-oriented engineer. You make sure you understand users' problems, and you know how to organise yourself to provide just enough solutions quickly.

Team player

You know that the best solutions are built in a team. You can explain your solutions orally and in writing to other team members. You're able to listen to the opinions of others in a multi-disciplinary team. You're willing to coach less experienced colleagues.
