Position Summary:

Under the supervision of Assistant Payroll Manager, accurately report pay and hour information for payroll processing, including compliance with federal and state wage reporting regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare weekly timekeeping report for editing.
  • Assist departments with data entry and maintenance of employee work schedules and leave requests, query creation, and compliance of company policies.
  • Compile and generate tip rates. Verify and maintain accuracy of all tip pool hours reported in software.
  • Review automated system output, such as registers and standard weekly reports. Verify accuracy of time reporting during Spring and Fall time clock changes. Maintain accurate leave balances. Enter direct deposit information. Record all orientation sessions.
  • Authenticate all worked and non-worked information reported in timekeeping software. Screen timesheets and software reports for calculating, coding or other errors.
  • Process and maintain deductions, such as garnishments, levies, child support withholding, court orders, etc. Prepare tax withholding data for remittance. Provide copies of check stubs and W-2`s.
  • Assist with setup and implementation of timekeeping software delegation to and from directors and managers.
  • Train end users on the functionality of the timekeeping software system.
  • Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and all applicable laws.
  • Maintain, correct and improve the internal control environment to safeguard company assets and protect the integrity of the system.
  • Maintain current knowledge of payroll software and Wage and Hour Laws.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both ora
