JOB SUMMARY
The newly created role of SVP, Capital Markets will play a key role within the senior executive management team to help execute SoLa Impact’s strategy for funding and managing our multi-family real estate and construction loans across multiple funds (Fund IV is our first institutional fund).
S/he will ideally possess a private equity real estate orientation and appreciate how multi-family construction financing operates, and have a thorough knowledge of various funding strategies. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong work ethic, solid technical/interpersonal skills, and be equally comfortable working with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop and execute a strategy to build and maintain relationships with debt providers
- Ability to leverage networks and new relationships to ideally secure $100M level commitments (versus $10-20M chunks)
- Influence senior bank executives such as Managing Director, Lending (and team of underwriters)
- Comprehend structure of debt providers
- Ability to develop relationships with senior finance executives who are perceived as “creating policy” versus “doers of work”
- Proactively signal new and innovating funding structures to Co-Founders
- Identify and prioritize key institutions that can provide debt to SoLa Impact
- Negotiate terms and conditions of lending agreements
- Develop, maintain, and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers
- Identify and communicate macro-economic market trends and related lending business changes that could impact SoLa Impact access to capital
- Manage, mentor, and lead a high performing team while creating L&D opportunities as needed
EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in capital markets, financial services, or a related field
- High degree of comfort operating in a unique vertically integrated private equity fund which builds affordable housing
- Exposure to multi-family and construction financing
- Private equity real estate domain experience
- Possess right mix of relationship networks and analytical sensibility
- High level cross-disciplinary strategic and creative thinker
- Hands-on operator in lean, agile, and dynamic high growth environments which can be ambiguous at times
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions
- Broad understanding of capital markets and solid knowledge
