About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Architect Technology Director in technology as part of Commercial and corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) to oversee the design and delivery of architecture solutions for our Commercial Bank. The Technology Director will drive the technical vision and strategy, translate business demands to product capabilities and develop a target architecture modernization roadmap that supports consumer/client consumption. Data architecture experience is essential. This role will lead experienced Data architects in defining architecture patterns and solving business and technical challenges. The Technology Director will work closely with our Principal Architect responsible for Data and with Product Owners and Product Managers to assist on technical aspects of product design. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and has experience negotiating, collaborating and influencing change across multiple organizational levels within the technology and business teams.

In this role, you will:
- Manage a team of Data architects specializing in functional Design
- Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
- Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
- Guide development of actionable roadmaps in collaboration with business and technology partners
- Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
- Represent CCIBT at the Bank’s central CDO team’s governance forums
- Liaise between CDO and Technology and Business partners
- Influence Technology and Business partners towards better Data Architecture practice and designs
- Strongly focused on the Business value of Data Architecture
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field
- Proven experience in data architecture, data modeling, and analytics.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and ETL processes
- Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with data governance and regulatory compliance is a plus
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
