Purpose
This is a full-time position to serve as a member of the Office of Risk and Compliance at Dell Medical School generally focusing on the University of Texas at Austin’s clinical practice, UT Health Austin. This position is responsible for policy management at UT Health Austin. The Policy Administrator reports to the Office of Risk and Compliance. The position works closely with the Quality Team and Executive Clinical Director, Surgical and Ancillary Services.
Responsibilities
POLICY DEVELOMENT
Assist in the writing, development, and management of policies, policy documentation and implementation plans that support the operationalization of programs, consistent with organizational philosophy and priorities
Serve as a point of contact for policy matters for faculty and staff
POLICY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Manage policy management system (Power Document Management System (“Power DMS”)) in accordance with university policies, UT System Regents Rules, and state and federal laws and regulations
Safeguard confidential organizational information, such as archived documents, while supporting accountability and transparency
Responsible for managing policy approval workflows and policy review/renewal
Assist other Dell Med departments as they transition policies to Power DMS
COMMUNICATION AND COLLOBORATION
In partnership with leadership, develop plan for communication of new policies and implementation strategies
Communicates effectively, courteously, and professionally with stakeholders
Participates in standing committees (e.g. Clinical Quality Committee) and others as assigned
Collaborates with Dell Med Risk and Compliance Office, UT Health Austin, Office of Research, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Medical Education and other clinical and administrative units

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or graduate level degree with a major field of study such as hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. One year of specialized experience in policy development and management; Five years of progressively responsible analytical or administrative, clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. Experience with development and implementation of policy and procedures; Experience with developing operational workflows related to compliance and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative/quantitative as well as analytical/evaluative methods for the development and management of major administrative programs; Knowledge of the range of national administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the organization such as accreditation agencies (e.g. Joint Commission, AAAHC); Knowledge in a variety of computer and data management platforms and Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of healthcare system policies, regulations, and trends in the areas of management systems, as well as an understanding of the public and private sector trends in health care.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range
$65,000+ depending on qualifications
