Job Duties

Transport working inmates to and from the warehouse and Cold Springs to assist with the day-to-day operations. Working inmates and ensuring that all tools and warehouse equipment training is completed and documented annually. Transport equipment to and from the warehouse as needed per instruction from Food Service Equipment Repair Manager. May be required to assist with the FOMU Team for emergency responses and training to help move trailers as needed, including overnight travel. Assist with hauling from other locations any surplus equipment that might become available for DOC use. Open warehouse per schedule to receive and ship equipment, ensuring all paperwork for transfer is completed and filed for pickup by the “Equipment Repair Manager”. Maintain the warehouse in an orderly fashion including- sweeping, cleaning of bathrooms, trash pickup and outside grounds maintenance. Maintain equipment inside of warehouse in an orderly fashion for visitors to browse around and see, while keeping all isles clear of tripping hazards. Maintain a sign in log showing all visitors entering the warehouse property.

This is a wage (hourly) position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must have valid driver’s license. Considerable experience in the food service operations and providing supervision to inmates. Knowledge of warehouse and inventory operations. Working Knowledge of Microsoft office software applications.

Additional Considerations

Working knowledge in food and equipment safety, forklift operation, pallet jacks and hand carts.
