About the Team

The Growth Strategy Team (GST) is organized to directly support the SVP of Growth and the Executive Committee at Workday in exploring and organizing to gain key growth markets across the enterprise software market.

GST is an intentionally small team of extraordinary individuals who can evaluate opportunities, work cross functionally with senior leaders, and engage with customers and partners to optimize Workday’s approach to key growth markets. With expertise in go-to-market strategy, financial markets, operations and services, and user experience, the individuals in GST build a comprehensive perspective on how to optimize Workday for short, medium, and long term growth.

The team is responsible to run cross-functional projects to accelerate growth, the operational cadence for incubation units within the Growth team, and for coordinating a semi-annual growth strategy review alongside the Corporate Strategy and Corporate Development teams.

Success will be seen in re-accelerating Workday to over 25% year over year growth at the corporate level.

About the Role

The Sr. Director of Growth Experience is responsible for user experience, user research, and prototyping in the pursuit of opportunities to unlock growth at Workday. This leader will be expected to help identify points of friction and unlock opportunities to accelerate progress for key initiatives. Projects will include engagements with incubation units, collaborations with teams from across the business, and user studies within new segments (industries, geographies, and market categories) in order to drive ever growing addressable market for Workday. 

The Sr. Director of Growth Experience must have expertise in the enterprise software industry with a strong understanding of product development as well as sales and support processes. This role will require deep levels of cross functional teamwork and engagement across a highly matrixed organization. The output of design research studies and sprints will be regularly reviewed by the President of Product & Technology, the Chief Technology Officer, and relevant Executive Committee members at Workday. 

The role requires an entrepreneurial mentality, focusing personal efforts on aligning vision with opportunities to achieve maximum momentum, coherence, and impact. A successful person in this role must expertly navigate organizational constraints—be they political, philosophical, or technical—to ensure their vision is realized. Their work culminates in projects that become new strategic advantages for Workday.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years demonstrated ability with UX research, prototyping, and software design

  • 10-15+ years experience in enterprise software (core HR, Talent, Travel and Expense, Finance, and Analytics)

Other Qualifications

  • Expertise in new product development and launches

  • Strong understanding of sales and support processes

  • Experience employing quantitative and qualitative research in product desig
