New Salary range as of 1/1/2025: $2,013 - $2,113 (semi-monthly)
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, responsible for the daily activities of all public assistance programs for the Department of Social Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below are central to the job and the employee must be able to perform each function satisfactorily. (1) Conduct in-depth interview of clients applying for Public Assistance. Responsible to assure clients understand their appeal rights and responsibilities for participation in Public Assistance programs.
(2) Responsible to recognize the need for any expedited/emergency services and to assure those needs are met within the required time frames and program constraints.
(3) Enter data and necessary information into the state computer system for all programs of Public Assistance Responsible to maintain data entry, functions from case management to case closure.
(4) Responsible to assist in the two-year training of an assigned entry-level case manager in the eligibility requirements and data entry of numerous Public Assistance programs. Responsible to review the data entry and authorize the release of benefits entered by their entry-level staff.
(5) Identify any potential program fraud or abuse and consult with superiors for further actions. Complete the required reports to initiate the investigation process and submit required reports to the Assistant Supervisor for investigation.
(6) Monitor the interviewing techniques of assigned case manager for compliance with program rules and rights.
(7) Make referrals to community resources for emergency or on-going needs including the immediate referral to Teller County DSS Child/Adult Protection services and/or therapist as indicated in crisis situations. Responsible to arrange supportive services for domestic violence issues, mental health or medical concerns and transportation services.
(8) Determine the need for recovery of funds or Food Stamps and follow the prescribed protocol to implement the recovery.
(9) Develop policies and procedures with team; recommend policies to Supervisor.
(10) Participate in local, regional, and State meetings/training to further develop policy/program issues and expertise. Participate in local committees or work groups to further develop intra-agency understanding of and coordination of programs.
