About the role

<p>Retail &amp; Banking Technology aims to balance the responsibility of producing and consuming technology across the entire retail business. As the provider of foundational capabilities and frameworks for building local or global value propositions, Retail &amp; Banking Technology oversees the global product and service portfolio, sets standards and guides providers.</p><p>Retail &amp; Banking Technology acts as the single point of contact (SPoC) for seven retail countries (Australia, Romania, Türkiye, Poland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg) and Wholesale Banking, aligning roadmaps and priorities to manage demand and supply between these countries / Wholesale Banking and providers. Retail &amp; Banking Technology ensures reusability across countries, channels, and segments, and supports the integration of global products and services into local propositions through the tech delivery enablement function. The capabilities and services provided by Retail &amp; Banking Technology are designed to be multi-country, multi-segment, multi-channel, and multi-product, and are not directly recognized by ING's end clients.</p><p>Retail &amp; Banking Technology encourages the contribution of code, knowledge, and products across ING's Scalable Tech platform. Key value drivers for Retail &amp; Banking Technology include quality and reliability, ease of consumption, time to market through productization and reuse, cost-efficiency through scale, and future-proof, innovative products.</p><p></p><p><b>Your role</b></p><p>As Chapter Lead Architecture you set the standards for the chapter area and takes responsibility for developing, innovating and safeguarding knowledge in the field of expertise. Develops and leads people to meet both their individual goals, career goals, organization's goals. Translates business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change by creating, communicating and improving the key principles and models that describe the future state and enable its evolution to deliver the IT Architecture for the organization and its customers.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Competencies</b></p><ul><li>Drive the development of our architecture standards and processes, educate and coach architects in that area and ensure application of these standards.</li><li>Support and drive architects to make good and timely architecture decisions that keep the organization moving forward in line with our strategic priorities.</li><li>Define the architecture activities and decisions for incremental changes, innovative changes and transformational changes.</li><li>Develop strategic architecture roadmaps and document current and future state processes and products by identifying the solution scope, potential value of the future state, and the changes to the process, products, organization infrastructure, capabilities, and technology necessary to achieve the desired future state.</li><li>Ensure the architecture is implemented according to plan; time, money and quality, minimizing technical/tactical debt.</li><li>Close the Loop ensuring that solutions are developed in line with to the architecture and design guidelines. Provide guidance to appropriate level Trinities and escalate compliance issues if necessary.</li><li>Communicate the actions needed to implement the ING strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the Architecture &amp; Strategy and organization's OKRs; motivate people to commit to these and actively contribute to achieve our Objectives.</li><li>Have a keen external market focus: keep an understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization. You are curious and keep up to date with latest trends in your domain and ensure that your chapter is inspired to do so as well.</li><li>Take the lead in co-creation (workshops, guiding, constraining, selling, telling) with others. Trains, mentors and coaches more junior colleagues.</li><li>Motivate your team to learn, grow and develop so that they can obtain the knowledge and experience they need to help the organization achieve its goals. Support the growth of all members of your team that may be differentiated to support each employee's unique needs and preferences in order to bring out their best and meet business needs.</li><li>Manage and report on the performance of your team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving thesis; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.   </li><li>Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media</li><li>Collaborate regularly with Tribe Leadership and proactively identify future hiring needs for a given area.
