As a Senior Project Manager within the Research Information Systems (RIS) team, you will lead and manage small to medium-scale, cross-functional technology projects that support Maestro, our enterprise research administration platform. These projects are critical to enabling efficient, compliant, and forward-thinking research operations across the institution.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who thrives in complex environments where both the problem and solution require thoughtful navigation. You’ll serve as a product owner across multiple Maestro components, ensuring that business needs are translated into effective, scalable solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of concurrent RIS projects, including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, vendor coordination, and contractual deliverables
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, track milestones, and manage risk
- Develops and delivers comprehensive training modules tailored to stakeholder needs
- Acts as the primary point of contact for Maestro users and personnel, providing guidance and support
- Serve as a product owner, gathering and analyzing business requirements, defining system scope, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals
- Coordinate and execute testing plans and quality assurance processes
- Mentor and support the development of junior team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
This opportunity is an onsite (with hybrid option) position in College Station, Texas.
Salary: $102,544.00
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND 5 years of related experience in project management or research administration
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships with others.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
A well-qualified candidate should possess one or more of the following:
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
- Project Management Certification (ACP/PMP or similar)
- Agile project management experience and client relations
- Knowledge of Research Administration
