What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $78,337 -$115,000 . We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

- 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 12 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday, 1 Wellness Day and 1 volunteer day per year

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Denver International Airport (DEN) is looking for a Safety and Industrial Hygiene Professional to join the Airport Operations Safety Team!
In this position, you will perform occupational safety and health work to minimize employee exposure to risk and injury, ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements, and enforce safety and loss policies and procedures within all of DEN's operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Tracking and trending workplace injuries
- Tracking and trending vehicle and facility damage
- Working closely with airline representatives to address safety concerns
- Participating in the Safety Action Team
- Conducting safety audits/risk assessments
- Providing on-demand regulatory guidance to airlines and departments
- Identifying controls to mitigate risk identified in risk assessments
- Assisting with Incident Analysis
- Monitoring and enforcing traffic infractions
- Hazard investigation and follow-up
- Supporting the development and implementation of Safety Management System (SMS)
- Performing other duties as required or requested

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with a passion for safety and an eye for hazards. In addition, our ideal candidate will have the following preferred skills and experience:
- A team player who works well with cross-functional groups
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations
- Ability to learn and understand various software programs
- Microsoft Office experience
- Safety Management System (SMS) experience
- Aviation experience preferred, but not required
