Mission
The Medical Lead’s mission is to generate innovative medical insights that translate into the promotion of our Opella products portfolio whilst ensuring their appropriate use, to improve the health and the well-being of our consumers by finding healthcare solutions and services utilising the highest ethical and compliance standards.
In this role, Medical Lead is responsible for the management of medical information queries and ensuring the quality and integrity of responses provided to HCPs and patients for Opella Belgium.
Close collaboration with scientific and commercial teams in creating brand strategies and driving HCPs recommendations through scientific experts’ engagement activities for the assigned Opella product categories is crucial.
Medical Lead plays an important role in building a fast acting, collaborative & science- driven innovative Opella culture.
Key Contributions & Activities
Key medical activities: develop insights, anticipate trends, identify & execute on science inspired innovation opportunities (claim enhancement, product development, life cycle management, medical evaluation of BD opportunities, local switch opportunities), scientific endorsement & stakeholder management, risk mitigation.
Ensure delivery of medical commitments at a local level by clearly defining the desired outcome(s) from prioritised activities defined in global medical strategies, and define operational milestones to deliver on these medical commitments
Promote scientific innovation opportunities across our portfolio through proactive cross-functional contribution to global strategic medical brand plans or developing local product strategic medical brand plans that align with brand direction
Initiate and manage engagements with local scientific experts, scientific organizations
Organize local scientific advice meetings and scientific events, e.g. webinars or symposia, ensuring appropriate KPIs are tracked and timely reported
Manage medical projects budget dedicated for the assigned country and WE zone category/ brand
Provide medical reviews and approvals of promotional and non-promotional materials
Ensure Opella Medical governance is implemented to always maintain company and industry standards, e.g. by reviewing and approving HCP engagements and events, owning and regularly updating country FMVs
Prepare and deliver medical product and disease training to employees and external service providers
Provide medical contribution, review and approval for the local labelling documents
Deliver medical writing, review and approval for local regulatory submissions, e.g. of RMP, PSUR
Ensure local medical contribution to switch projects, including, but not limited to delivery of local expert statement or local clinical overview
