Summary
The Warehouse General Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources, and delivering high-quality service to customers. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise to drive performance and achieve organizational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations and meet company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and revenue growth.
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, equipment, and space, to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Manage inventory levels and stock replenishment to meet customer demand.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement measures to enhance productivity, accuracy, and service levels.
- Liaise with customers to understand their needs and expectations.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of warehouse supervisors, coordinators, and associates.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives where possible.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency gains.
- Implement lean principles and best practices to streamline processes and workflows.
Educational background / Work experience
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MBA, CPIM) are preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or related roles, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of success in optimizing warehouse operations and achieving business objectives.
Skills & Competencies

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control methods.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)
- Supervise and mentor a team of warehouse supervisors, coordinators, and associates.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CLTD, CSCP).
- Experience with implementing warehouse automation and technology solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in warehousing.
Language skills
