Description

Join our mission-driven team as the Foundation Development Director and help identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors for Tri Delta's Foundation. As a vital member of the Foundation Team, the Foundation Development Director will focus on fundraising. This position is full-time and benefits and remote eligible. Key Responsibilities: The Foundation Development Director will focus on fundraising. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Prospect Identification. Identifying and researching potential major donors who align with the organization’s mission and have the capacity to make substantial gifts.
  • Relationship Building. Cultivating strong, personalized relationships with prospective and current major donors through various communication channels, including meetings, events, and personalized outreach. This includes working with key volunteers to open doors to new/stronger relationships.
  • Gift Solicitation. Developing and executing effective solicitation strategies, including crafting compelling proposals and making clear, confident asks for major gifts alone or with a volunteer or other staff leader.
  • Donor Stewardship. Implementing strategies to nurture donor relationships after gifts are made, ensuring continued engagement and satisfaction.
  • Portfolio Management. Managing a portfolio of about 150 prospects and major donors, tracking their giving history, interests, and communication preferences in Salesforce. Visiting 10-15 prospects/month.
  • Fundraising Strategy. Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve fundraising goals, including identifying key fundraising initiatives and donor segments.
  • As a part of the Foundation team, provide customer support and communications to donors, potential donors, Trustees, and volunteers.
  • Seek out continued, ongoing education regarding fundraising best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Brand Advancement team, Member Engagement team, Housing team and others throughout the organization to ensure the priorities of the organization are met, including campaign goals.

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of related experience
  • Non-profit background
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Tri Delta member
  • Strong communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate the organization’s mission and fundraising needs effectively
  • Interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and cultivate strong relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Fundraising expertise. In-depth knowledge of fundraising principles, best practices, and donor relations. Proven track record of success in fundraising.
  • Strategic thinking. Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and plans.
