Our opportunity:

Join our dynamic team in San Jose, CA as our Workday HCM Leader, where you will own the Workday HCM practice and being accountable for all HCM aspects, excluding Payroll. You will be essential in optimizing our HR systems and processes to enhance organizational success.

We are seeking a results-driven individual with expertise in Workday HCM, Workday Compensation including Advanced Compensation, Workday Absence Management, and Talent Management. ​ The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leveraging their expertise in Workday HR technology to drive innovative solutions and deliver actionable insights. ​ Experience in conducting root cause analysis for issue resolution and utilizing the Workday community effectively

Who you’ll report to:

You will report directly to our VP, Total Rewards & Technology

Location: 

San Jose, CA Bay Area preferred. Other locations within the US will be considered.

You will make an impact by being responsible for:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in various HR technology platforms including Workday modules such as Absence, Benefits, Compensation, and Talent Management
  • Managing reports, dashboards, security configurations, and data integrity within HR systems
  • Supporting integration efforts and ensuring seamless data flow across different platforms
  • Developing and implementing custom objects, calculations, and Compensation plans
  • Leveraging your expertise in Excel vlookup to analyze and present data effectively
  • Enhancing Workday absence management for specific regions, providing valuable feedback on design and identifying requirement gaps​
  • Conducting white-box testing for Workday configurations and integrations, gaining insights into the internal workings of reports, integrations, Workday Query Language (WQL), and configuration processes ​
  • Participating in Workday release teams, actively testing all new features and conducting assessments to ensure seamless integration with existing systems
  • Transforming manual HR processes into automated practices through the design and implementation of frameworks, resulting in increased efficiency and reliability of testing procedures​
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical system issues, as well as create and maintain reports and manage business processes

You will be a great fit if you have: 

  • 7+ years of experience with Workday modules: including expertise in Human Capital Management (HCM), Analytics and Reporting, Employee Experience, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), and Workforce Management
  • Experience with Financial Management, Spend Management, Workday Student, Professional Services Automation (PSA), Payroll, Workday Adaptive Planning a plus, but not required
  • Experience with custom objects, calculations, and compensation plans
  • General knowledge of Web Services, Integration, and Payroll processes
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including vlookup functions
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform gap analysis
  • Proficient in requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and validation of enhancements and new features ​
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end HR processes, methodologies, and practices including: Payroll, Compensation, LOA and Recruitment
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in system performance testing and process improvement is a plus
