Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (or Psychiatrist)

Job Overview:  

The psychiatric nurse practitioner performs psychiatric evaluations and provides ongoing medication management.   

Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

• Determine a diagnosis, develop a treatment plan and measure progress against the plan, making adjustments as needed 

• Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications 

• Order and interpret laboratory tests 

• Consult with patients’ primary care physicians to coordinate care 

• Partner with other members of the care team (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, social worker)  

• Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner 

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) 

• Master’s degree in nursing, or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, with a psychiatric nurse practitioner specialization 

• Current national board certification 

• Valid DEA registration and current New York licensure as an advanced practice nurse 

• BLS certification 

• Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration 

• Minimum of 3,600 hours of clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner 

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above) 

• 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner 

• Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration 

• Familiarity with the NextGen EHR 

• Experience with the I/DD patient population 

Compensation:     

• $110.00-125.00/hr.
