We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant with flexible availability to pick up shifts to cover call out, vacancies, and vacations across our Wentworth Health Partners Primary Care and Specialty Practices. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team.
We are seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to provide coverage across all of our Wentworth Health Partner locations. These locations include:
-South Berwick, ME
-Dover, NH
-Somersworth, NH
- Portsmouth, NH
-Lee, NH
-Durham, NH
-Rochester, NH
These practices are open Monday-Friday 6:15am-6:00pm , so schedules are staggered accordingly during that time frame based on the employees availability.
Job Summary
This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.Does this position require Patient Care? Essential Functions
-Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
-Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
-Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
-Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
-Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
-Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
-Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred
Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - preferred
Emergency Medical Technician - preferred
Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred
