A Brief Overview
The Clinic Nurse Manager (CNM) is responsible for providing oversight of daily operations of the Occupational Medicine department (also known as Work Care) including planning, development and implementation of Work Care policies, procedures and initiatives that support organizational goals and objectives. In collaboration with the Medical Director of Occupational Medicine, the CNM will promote the prevention & management of occupational injury and illness and supports the wellness in employees, and communities by partnering with businesses in the region to keep their employees safe, healthy and productive.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 2 years Professional nursing experience. Required

  • 1 year Clinical/healthcare leadership experience. Preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and delegate work assignments; to set priorities and accomplish a wide variety of tasks. (Required proficiency)

  • Knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC standards and regulations. (Required proficiency)

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and promote through demonstration the effectiveness of teamwork. (Required proficiency)

  • Ability to effectively de-escalate tense situations using conflict resolution techniques, maintaining professionalism and promoting a safe, respectful environment. (Required proficiency)

  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide immediate and on-going patient care. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required


What you will do

  • Manages the day-to-day clinical operations including staffing and scheduling. Manages direct reports by appropriately delegating tasks in accordance with the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act. Oversees performance evaluations, engagement, productivity/timecards and behavior expectations. Assists in the hiring, training and retention of staff. Responsible for identifying when workplace expectations are not met and taking appropriate corrective action.

  • Represents the WorkCare Service Line for business development opportunities (employer meet and greet, worksite tours, health fairs, service review meetings, RFP presentations, etc). Collaborates with Employer Regional Relations team on process improvement and service recovery.

  • Partners with the SVH Employee Health department to coordinate and complete N95 fit testing procedures.

  • Understands and follows all WorkCare policies and procedures in compliance with KDHE, OSHA, The Joint Commission (TJC), CDC and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for helping identify best practices, making recommendations and implementing change as approved. Collaborates with and seeks guidance from the Occupational Health Medical Director as necessary.

  • Monitors staff and provider certification requirements and ensures recertification prior to expiration. Coordinates annual staff competency training and ensures completion by deadlines. Conducts chart audits as necessary and ensures staff adherence to standard workflows/protocols. Develops appropriate competencies and reviews to keep current with best practice. Develops learning Opportunities to mitigate gaps in employee performance.

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all clinic staff roles and responsibilities and serves as a backup for staff functions to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Assists Nurse Manager with assuring financial viability through budgeting and financial and productivity management. Offers suggestions to improve quality and enhance processes while reducing expenses.

  • Responsible for maintaining a process of training and educating newly hired team members at WorkCare and ensuring timely completion of Stormont Vail assigned annual education.

  • Assures all standing orders, policies, procedures and standard works are reviewed and updated annually and as needed.

  • Adheres to infection control, emergency, safety, fire and disaster
