About the role

This is a temporary position.   

The Director of Digital Operational Effectiveness plays a critical role in supporting the Digital Leadership team in leading the communications strategy and execution of key deliverables for the Digital Products, optimizing operational efficiency across Digital Products, and ensuring alignment on strategic initiatives across the organization This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP of Digital Products, facilitate effective communication between leadership and key stakeholders/partners, lead the development and execution of leadership agendas and organizational effectiveness roadmap, and drive the planning of departmental events, such as quarterly townhalls.

 

The ideal candidate possesses a combination of strategic thinking, masterful storytelling and communication skills, proven process and project management, and effective organizational savviness. The person must also have a proven track record of dealing with and maintaining discretion with sensitive information, the ability to anticipate leadership/organizational needs and high emotional intelligence.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience 

 

Required

  • Minimum of 8 years of strategic consulting, communications and change management, or operations experience.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills with the ability to articulate business objectives into storytelling for diverse and broad audiences 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to drive results through cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working directly with senior-level leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage time against key priorities
  • High level of emotional intelligence, integrity, and discretion.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

 

Preferred

  • Hospitality/lodging experience is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the digital ecosystem (e.g., Web, App, etc.) and emerging technology trends and market dynamics 

               

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

 

Digital Operational Efficiencies

.

  • Serve as a trusted adviser to the SVP, Digital Products, and the Digital Leadership team in consulting on key organizational priorities and making actionable recommendations
  • Develop the Leadership meeting agendas and run the meetings to keep the meetings focused on driving key departmental priorities
  • Identify and prioritize root causes/key improvement opportunities that will allow Digital to operate more effectively and efficiently 
  • Partner with the Digital Leadership team in the development and pursuit of an operational effectiveness improvements roadmap and corresponding plans to address the opportunities
  • Complete special projects and initiatives that drive growth, operational excellence and productivity

 

 

Communications

 

  • Lead communication efforts in partnership with Digital Field Support and Product Marketing by identifying communication needs, designing the organization’s communication strategy, and executing the communications plan.
  • Develop core presentations and communications collateral to support the SVP, Digital Products, in addressing the needs of key stakeholders (e.g., owners, GMs, marketing, etc.).
  • Own, develop and manage full scope from strategy to calendar of key messages related to Digital Products with the key subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure consistent, relevant and timely delivery of internal communications material for the organization.
  • Lead and manage the execution of large communication efforts and/or initiatives, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting on the process, progress and results.
  • Develop targeted communications (examples: memos, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), presentations, collateral, webcasts, etc.) associated with disciplines, including organizational change communications.
  • Respond to, solve and makes decisions on communication/change management requests that have a broader department impact.
