Job Summary:

Join the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) as a Physical Plant Operations Administrator! Oversee preventative maintenance, prepare cost estimates and budget requests, and manage a work order system for maintenance issues. You'll handle project reviews, design recommendations, and material approvals. This role includes planning and coordinating operations for physical plant services, surveillance systems, large refrigeration systems, and sewage treatment plants. Job Duties:

- Oversee the Physical Plant Operations by ensuring a preventative maintenance system is in place for equipment and buildings
- Prepare cost estimates and budget requests regarding maintenance issues and large projects
- Review projects and make design recommendations
- Ensure a Work Order system is in place for all maintenance issues, from submission to completion, by staff
- Approve material and equipment orders for the Physical Plant
- Schedule maintenance and construction activities to ensure rapid completion of projects
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Departmental organization functions, personnel practices, and techniques
- Statutes governing buildings, building requests, condemnation of buildings, and expenditure regulations
- Local licensing and building code requirements
- Budgetary procedures and methods of recordkeeping
- Plant standards for accreditation
- Engineering techniques, methods, and practices
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel to create reports, charts, and conduct research

Skill in:
- Reading comprehension and interpretation of plans, specifications, or blueprints
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Supervision
- Engineering and mathematical calculations necessary for the adequate checking of plans and specifications
- Developing effective operating procedures
- Coordinating activities and establishing priorities
- Written and verbal communication

Ability to:
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and analyze
- Work in a prison environment
- Apply motivational techniques
- Be tactful and courteous

Selective Preference(s):

- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or technical school with a degree in engineering and one year of supervisory or administrative experience directing the operation and maintenance of large physical plant, building or multi-building complex, working knowledge of the application National Emergency Management (NEMA), Occupational Safety Health Administration (OHA), and city codes.
