Position Overview
The Director, IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) is a strategic partner to senior leadership who champions the overall priorities of an assigned business unit through shared ownership and delivery of strategic technology initiatives. This role partners closely with the Laboratory and Operations department as a trusted advisor with responsibility for the IT portfolio of those initiatives. The BRM is the ‘single point of contact’ for the customer from long range planning to ad-hoc requests/inquiries. This role influences and shapes the portfolio to align and enhance the organizational strategy via an excellent understanding of the business strategies and processes, awareness of the evolution of technologies, and understanding of relevant regulations impacting the partnered areas.
The role requires a deep understanding of the laboratory and diagnostics industry to support the partners' strategies, industry trends, technological advancements, and the regulatory landscape to effectively align resources, ensure execution of plans, and report progress. The BRM supports cross-functional teams, identifies technology-driven opportunities, and fosters collaboration to achieve superior business outcomes – this often requires facilitation of matrixed teams across various laboratory facilities. This role also provides insight to the partnered teams on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities, proactively identifies areas of opportunity to utilize technology for new enablement opportunities, process improvement and cost efficiencies.
For this role, the “how” is just as important as the “what.” This BRM is skilled at bringing cross-functional teams together to drive meaningful results. With a focus on mutual respect and inclusivity, the BRM creates a sense of trust, creativity, innovation, authenticity, and shared ownership across the organization. A shared commitment to teamwork allows the BRM to maintain successful relationships while delivering great outcomes.
