About the Role: Sales Specialist - Data, Valuations and Risk (Investor Services)
The Team:
This is an appointment in S&P Global's Sales Team with responsibility for selling our DVR product suite to Investor Services clients (namely Fund Administrators). This position will be located in New York City and will also liaise with counterparts in the other major financial centers. The successful candidate will have experience in financial markets, direct selling, account management and/or the ability to manage complex relationships.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Sales & Account Management is a key function within S&P Global and is responsible for client-facing activity including co-ordination of sales coverage to maximize new business generation, up-selling opportunities, cross-selling opportunities; contract renewals, roll-out of new products and overall business development.
The DVR product suite is composed of Pricing, Valuations & Reference Data (PVR), Equities Data & Analytics (EDA), and Financial Risk Analytics (FRA). Within Investor Services, Fund Administrators represent a key strategic client segment for the S&P Global DVR group, with a focus on expanding relationships across tier 1 and tier 2 firms. S&P datasets are typically used by Fund Administrators to support daily portfolio valuations and NAV calculations for their buy-side clients, covering all OTC asset types (Bonds, Loans, Derivatives) as well as illiquid and alternative assets.
In addition, Fund Administrators, Custodians, and Agent Lenders form an integral part of the broader investor services ecosystem, leveraging the EDA products like S&P’s Securities Lending and Dividend Forecasting services. This role requires a senior, client-oriented sales professional who can identify and drive opportunities across these interlinked segments: Fund Administration, Custody, and the broader Pricing and Valuations landscape.
· Generation of lead pipeline for new business and existing clients.
·Reporting of actual vs. budgeted sales on a regular basis.
·Maintain communication with accounts by being in regular contact with key users and build a position of trust, respect and openness with the view to generate new business across all S&P Global's product lines.
·Listen and identify the client’s needs and feedback any cross selling opportunities to relevant product line Sales team.
·Proactively look for Sales referrals from existing accounts.
·Take ownership of client issues with the help of the data and Business Development teams.
· Maintain pipeline and generate management report (cold calls list, user list etc) from Salesforce.
·Delegate non $ opportunity related activities (billing, initial and on-going client set up and training, admin duties around contracts etc) to relevant support teams.
·Take responsibility for keeping S&P Global's products knowledge to a high standard for your defined product area and a referral standard for S&P Global’s other product lines and remain aware of any future development.
·Act as a point person for your allocated product providing understanding of clients, technical information, product characteristics, coaching Sales peers in terms of Sales USPs and pre sales questioning etc.
·Active participation in Sales Conferences, special events, as well as organizing and promoting webinars and roundtables, sales collateral production, client entertainment, and association memberships. It is expected that you will help drive these activities for your product line to maximize sales revenue and retention.
·The position involves regular client interaction across different locations, including regular on-site visits.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $124,192 to $170,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
