Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst to support the Sentinel Program in Roy, UT. 

What You’ll Get to Do:

This individual will be responsible for working within a team to manage the structure, configuration, and lifecycle of training development artifacts, including shareable content objects (SCOs), media assets, lesson plans, and related documentation within the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model for a new training system supporting the United States Air Force. This role serves as the bridge between instructional design and technical configuration, ensuring that all training content is accurately organized, version-controlled, traceable, and ready for deployment in learning systems (LMS/LCMS).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Configuration Management
    • Establish, maintain, and enforce configuration baselines for training products, including SCOs, media files, lesson plans, and supporting documents.
    • Maintain version control, naming conventions, and metadata standards to ensure traceability and reuse of training content.
    • Track and document changes to training artifacts, ensuring updates are reviewed, approved, and auditable.
    • Maintain configuration records that link training content to requirements, analysis outputs, and system design decisions.
  • Training Analysis and Data Integration
    • Work with instructional designers and analysts to ensure analysis data (training requirements, task analyses, learner profiles, evaluation data) is captured, structured, and traceable to training artifacts.
    • Support implementation of Kirkpatrick’s 4 levels of evaluation (reaction, learning, behavior, results) by ensuring LMS/LCMS data structures and content configuration support formative, summative, and operational evaluation.
    • Help define how evaluation data and usage metrics are stored, tagged, and accessed for continuous improvement of the training system.
  • Content Packaging and Deployment
    • Upload, register, and maintain learning objects within the LMS/LCMS, including catalog metadata, course structures, and version history.
    • Configure, package, and prepare e-learning modules (e.g., SCORM/xAPI-compliant SCOs) for deployment to the LMS/LCMS environments.
    • Validate that content functions as designed in the LMS/LCMS environment, including launch, navigation, tracking, and completion reporting.
    • Coordinate with IT/LMS administrators to resolve technical issues related to training content configuration and delivery.
  • Library and Asset Management
    • Maintain a centralized library/repository of training artifacts, ensuring assets are logically organized and easily discoverable.
    • Manage media assets (graphics, audio, video) to ensure proper file formats, compression, and linkage to associated lessons and modules.
    • Support content reuse by maintaining modular, well-documented learning objects and templates.
  • Collaboration and Standards
    • Partner with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure content structure and configuration align with instructional goals and project requirements.
