Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $47,756.40 - $56,709.90 / Year depending on qualifications and experience.

Expectations:

The Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care is an advanced practice nurse, responsible for critical care patient safety, producing optimal practice outcomes, promoting safety and quality patient care. The role of the NP will include taking a primary role on the Code Blue and Rapid Response Team and primary responsibility during codes for managing emergent clinical deterioration of patients for the purpose of rapid prevention and treatment of further deterioration. In addition, this role will assist the Critical Care Unit to ensure 24-hour operations with an emphasis on staff training and education. Supports and enforces established departmental policies and procedures, standards, objectives, quality improvement, safety environment of care and infection control guidelines. Assists nurses in the Critical Care with challenging issues and coordinates care throughout.

EDUCATION:
Certified Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice Nurse

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
A minimum of five years of work experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, required. A minimum of two years of work experience as a Nurse Practitioner / APRN, preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by State of California
Current NIHSS certification required within 30 days of hire/transfer date
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) provider issued by American Heart Association. (Instructor, required within 6 months of hire).

SKILLS:
Demonstrates leadership abilities; excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Implements evidence-based or “best practice” guidelines for specific patient population
Provides consultation with nursing staff on complex patient issues
Facilitator of Learning
     a. Coordination and assessment of educational development and clinical competency of the nursing staff
           • Ensuring continued competency through educational programs for the newly hired, newly transferred and experienced nursing staff
Collaboration
     a. Develops and oversees implementation of departmental specific Policies & Procedures
     b. Is a proactive team player and enjoys working in a collaborative work setting.
     c. Demonstrates flexibility when faced with a fast-paced and changing work environment.
