Dentistry | Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and AnesthesiologyThe Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Patient Revenue Cycle Senior Coordinator for its Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology (OMFS). OMFS offers a full scope of surgical techniques for a variety of problems of the face and mouth. Many of our faculty surgeons have particular expertise in select sub-specialties, including temporomandibular disorder, nerve repair, orthognathic surgery, and cleft lip and palate repair.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Responsibilities:
- Functions as an integral member of the Oral Surgery care team; providing service to our community, doctors, students and fellow colleagues.
Greets incoming visitors and customers professionally and provides friendly, knowledgeable assistance.
Coordinates patient scheduling, check-in, check-out and payments for billing.
Checks patient insurance, demographic and health history to keep information current.
Maintains compliance with company policies, objectives and communication goals.
Adheres to strict HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy.
Provides feedback for process improvements.
Assists with new staff training and development.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm
Pay Range: $18.37 - $23.99 per hour, dependent on experience
Required Screenings: This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Physical Requirements: Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Required – 2 years’ experience in customer service or communications, analyzing and interpreting information, operation of computer and related peripheral equipment, and information research and analysis.
Desired – 4-6 years’ experience customer service with direct (in-person) contact, preferably Healthcare, Dental/Medical office environment, experience using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; considerable data entry experience with a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); ability to use basic office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, laminators; a high level of verbal and written skills; ability to contribute and work within a fast-paces team environment.
