About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer, Robotics Reliability to join our team and work closely with our software, hardware, and operations teams to deploy, manage, and monitor safety-critical hardware and software across our vehicle fleet.
About the Work
- Participate in on-call support rotation to diagnose and mitigate software issues with Nuro’s robot fleet.
- Support our operations team as they carry out autonomous vehicle testing and customer facing missions, ensuring our software and hardware are operating properly.
- Analyze software issues for contributing factors, themes, and corrective actions. Document results to engage Nuro’s teams in learning and adapting.
- Develop monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems for timely insights into Nuro’s fleet operations.
- Propose, design, review, execute, and lead technical projects for the Robotics Reliability Engineering team that improve utilization and resiliency of the fleet.
- Build tools and automation to advance our diagnosis and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Guide systems architecture (build-out and improvements) by participating in design reviews and offering suggestions for reliability and optimization of robotic systems across teams.
About You
- Keen systematic analysis and problem-solving skills; a passion for understanding and debugging complex systems.
- Coding proficiency, preferably in C/C++, Python, Golang, and/or Bash.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, willing to identify problems that don't have a clear owner and take initiative to fix them.
- BS, MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related technical field.
Bonus Points
- Experience working with robotics, sensors, automotive, or aerospace systems.
- Experience in site reliability, systems, and/or release engineering roles.
- Understanding and hands-on experience with Linux and computer networking.
At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $138,225 and $207,575/year for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
