About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead QA Engineer to join our Software Quality Assurance team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving the quality assurance strategy across our product portfolio. You will work closely with product managers, project managers, developers, and other QA engineers to facilitate testing (e.g., project estimates, testing strategies, test documents, defect tracking, process documentation). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in QA methodologies, strong technical skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members while ensuring the delivery of exceptional fitness products.  

**this is a hybrid position based out of Franklin Park, IL - M/F remote and T-Th are in-office collaboration days** #LI-Hybrid 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist and implement quality assurance test strategy including manual, automated, and performance testing strategies, best practices and test tools  

  • Design, create, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases using JIRA stories, functional specifications and design documents  

  • Act as a team leader or project leader as necessary  

  • Document defects as they are discovered  

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight for more junior team members  

  • Assign duties and monitor quality of work, assure project teams follow QA practices, methodologies and processes  

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:  

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with at least 2 years in a leadership role 

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, best practices, and testing techniques 

  • Proficient in QA and Documentation tools: JIRA or similar  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments 

  • Problem solving skills necessary to analyze complex issues and determine workable solutions  

  • Demonstrated capabilities in teamwork and leadership  

  • Experience leading exploratory testing initiatives and building test strategies 

  • Proven experience with test planning, test case development, and defect management 

  • Experience testing complex hardware-software integrated systems 

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira) 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the fitness industry  

  • Experience with API testing and tools like Postman or SoapUI 

  • Knowledge of database testing and SQL 

  • ISTQB Advanced Level certification or other relevant QA certifications 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 

  • CSTE or ISQ certification preferred
