Description

The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of billing operations for home health, hospice, palliative care and private pay services. This role requires a deep understanding of billing processes, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to home health and hospice care. The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will lead a team of billing specialists to ensure accurate and timely billing, maximize revenue collection, and maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and perform all aspects of the billing process for home health, hospice, palliative care and private pay services, including claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
  • Ensure compliance with all billing regulations and requirements, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines.
  • Develop and implement billing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and expansion of the billing team
  • Oversee the training and development of billing staff to ensure a high level of competency and compliance with company policies.
  • Oversees all billing team personnel.
  • Proactively monitors and performs collection activity for aged Accounts Receivable.
  • Analyze billing data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and revenue enhancement.
  • Meet or exceed defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Accounts Receivable Aging and claim submission timeliness.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and operations, to ensure billing processes are integrated and streamlined.
  • Stay informed about changes in billing regulations and requirements affecting home health, hospice and palliative care services.
  • Meets weekly with CFO and other stakeholders to review current AR and associated collection activities.
  • Analyzes payments received and appropriately recommends write-offs to CFO upon exhausting every avenue for reimbursement.
  • Completes other assignments as requested and assigned.
  • May have access to personal health information ("PHI") necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Access to use and ability to disclose PHI is further defined by each organization/department.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years healthcare billing experience inclusive of managed care.
  • One (1) year in a leadership role providing training, support and direction.
  • One (1) year experience using the Medicare DDE application
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • In depth knowledge of healthcare industry billing.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Occasional same-day travel for meetings and conferences.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and/or evening hours as needed.
  • Sits most of the time; infrequent to occasional walking or standing.
  • Ability to sit in front of CPU for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Physical activity is sedentary and may require occasional lifting or carrying up to 10 lbs.
