About This Role:

This position is for a staff Engineering Services and Support technician who is under moderate supervision. Performs moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Confers with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results. Assists in orienting, training, and assigning work of technical/business support employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble testing apparatuses to support testing and development of commercial HVAC products.

  • Accurately record and document test data utilizing data systems and databases.

  • Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to test units and components.

  • Control support equipment in the test room to maintain temperature and humidity conditions.

  • Understanding of HVAC product certification standards.

  • Calibrate test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot units or instrumentation issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of HVAC or Machine Shop Experience

  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of work experience with HVAC

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certified: Refrigerant Recovery Certification EPA608 Universal.

  • Ability to install delicate test instrumentation.

  • Good understanding of basic electrical wiring.

  • Experience working with combustible and pressurized gasses.

  • Experience with basic hand and power tools, and other electrical equipment.

  • Working knowledge of refrigeration cycles and components used within those cycles.

  • Proficiency in brazing is preferred.

  • Intermediate HVAC troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret test data.

  • Ability to read and understand test assignments.

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to write clear, concise, and consistent emails.

  • Strong safety record.

  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities with very short notice.

  • Must be willing to work second shift on a temporary or regular basis.

  • Physical requirements lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
