This role functions under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist and is responsible for delivery, setup, education, and maintenance of CPAP, RAD, oxygen, and related sleep medical equipment while ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service.

Education

• Required - High School Diploma/GED

Work Experience

• Required - 3 years healthcare or patient facing service role

• Preferred - Prior experience working with sleep equipment

Certifications

• Required - Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications to navigate documentation systems.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to provide instruction clearly and professionally to patients and caregivers with varying levels of health literacy

• Strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

• Strong time management skills

Job Duties

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Complies with all policies and standards

• Perform setup and instruction for CPAP, RAD, and other DME sleep medicine equipment

• Assist patient with selection of correct mask to be used with sleep medicine equipment

• Educate patients and caregivers on safe and effective use of sleep medicine equipment

• Ensure accurate completion of documentation and compliance requirements

• Monitor compliance data and follow up with patients as needed

• Clean, maintain, and prepare sleep equipment according to policy

• Manage inventory, supplies, and shipment of equipment

• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency coverage as assigned

• Escalate clinical concerns to licensed RTs

• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style
