Job Description Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with at least one year of accounts receivable or related experience to join our team as an AR Specialist I. This role involves handling payment applications, reconciling accounts, and assisting with resolving outstanding payment issues. The ideal candidate should be a proactive learner with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date billing and account records.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in payments and invoices.
- Assist with preparing and sending customer statements and invoices.
- Support AR team in tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues.
- Generate and distribute aging reports as needed.
- Follow established SOPs and escalate issues to senior AR staff when necessary.
- Assist in preparing audit documentation and maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Required Qualifications:
Years of Education
- Associate’s degree (AA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Accounting.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and financial reconciliation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software.
- Previous experience in a medium to large-sized company.
Working Conditions:
- Typically works in an office environment.
- Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment for extended periods.
$27.00-$33.00/hour is an estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on the qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
