Job Overview

TE Connectivity is looking for an engineer who is highly motivated to work within our IVD Solutions Manufacturing team at our Denver location.  You will play a critical role in the design and development of manufacturing processes and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production.  You are the interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment.  Manufacturing Engineers work with the customer, production floor, suppliers, and engineering to design and develop fixtures, equipment and manufacturing processes.  This position also supports Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. We are looking for people that are hands-on with excellent engineering skills, a team player with leadership skills and is driven to achieve project goals.

 

 
•    Is a process leader for assembly or other TE manufacturing processes, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. 
•    Possesses an extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes, which may include the optimization and standardization of assembly processes within the manufacturing environment.
•    Designs and develops manufacturing process platforms and automation platforms and applies these for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. 
•    Supports Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts related to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location.
•    Supports Product Development in the optimization designs and piece parts for manufacturability; realizes sample tooling, product samples and prototypes. 
•    Designs, develops, and qualifies tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards.
•    Documents all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems. 
•    Supports supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability. 
•    Undertakes small and medium size projects.
•    Manages technical elements while maintaining performance and schedule. 
•    Acts as core team member or core team leader if project management is not available.
•    Contributes to multiple project level technology and product decisions. 
•    Contributes to technical function initiatives across multiple projects.
 

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
•    5+ years of medical device and manufacturing process development experience.
•    Thorough knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function e.g. CAD, industrial or quality engineering tools.  
•    Solid Proficiency in technical documentation, including CAD modelling and engineering drawings.
•    Proficient in Process Validations in medical device manufacturing environment.
•    Thorough knowledge of general engineering tools and product development and processes such as LEAN or Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, etc. 
•    Must have good written and verbal communication skills, be well-organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Self-motivated with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
•    Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
•    Experience leading technical programs and inter-disciplined groups.
