POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Medical Mutual Executive Director for Community Health (ED) under the leadership of the Director of the Institute for Population and Community Health (IPCH) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and sustaining the IPCH’s experiential education, research activities, and community programming that advance community-identified health priorities to improve community health. Housed within the CWRU School of Medicine, the ED will coordinate across SOM as well as the other CWRU Schools and Colleges to shape a healthy tomorrow.
The ED will oversee preventive health activities and evidence-based programming engaging students with community members to learn, train and implement evidence-based best practices in population and community health. Efforts will be made to encourage and provide volunteer opportunities for Medical Mutual employees and others to mentor students and community members engaged with the Initiative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manage and coordinate the physical space of the IPCH at Midtown Collaboration Center with SOM Facilities, including oversight of front-desk office management team members. (10%)
2. Develop, monitor, and evaluate IPCH Strategic Plan in collaboration with Faculty Director. Communicate these priorities to SOM and University leaders. Prepare annual reports and presentations on IPCH priorities, recommendations, and progress in collaboration with the Faculty Director. (10%)
3. Apply project management principles to organize team tasks, coordinate efforts of IPCH with other partners, monitor project resources, and ensure project deadlines and goals are met efficiently and effectively. Develop mechanisms to effectively manage and track resource utilization related to community outreach and engagement activities. (15%)
4. CWRU In-Reach: Promote increased institutional engagement and support for collaborative research and education with community /stakeholder engagement specific to population and community health. Identify and engage in opportunities to promote community partnership across all schools and colleges in the University to advance population and community health. (20%)
5. Outreach: Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners within Midtown, Greater Cleveland, and beyond as appropriate to advance population and community health. Facilitate relationship development between CWRU faculty investigators, educators, and community partners. (20%)
6. Constitute and Convene the Community Health Advisory Team under direction of the Faculty Director. Oversee planning committee development meetings and the overall execution of the event. Manage all timelines, staff duties, budget. Implement marketing strategies to promote the CHAT’s goals and updates. Develop and disseminate relevant data to community partners and stakeholders. (10%)
7. Provide volunteer opportunities for Medical Mutual employees and others to mentor students and community members engaged with the Initiative. (5%)
