Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in Acute General Medicine.
Ward 517 at QEHB is a 36-bed area, where you will support patient flow from Acute Medical Assessment Unit and Emergency Department. The area is a busy but rewarding and you will be surrounded by friendly and supportive colleagues that encourage new ideas, innovation and personal development.
We are seeking a confident committed clinical leader who is driven by challenges and can demonstrate personal resilience when working in a fast-moving environment. You should have experience of staff and change management and leading by example.
You will possess substantial and recent Medicine experience as a Band 6 and demonstrate a passion for Medicine. The successful applicant will be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising essential standards of care and professionalism You will need to be a creative thinker, problem-solver and Team player and lead a Team effectively and influence clinical standards of care.
In return, we will support you with an innovative individualized programme of on-going professional and career development, working with the Matron in achieving your personal development plan.
The post holder will be expected to work Monday -- Friday as core business hours, 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications
Essential
*Registered Adult Nurse on NMC register
Completion of a relevant post registration specialist course or experience, e.g. critical care, or specialist pathway pertaining to clinical area to be confirmed at advert )
Desirable
*Health care management / Leadership Qualification

*Professional Portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
*Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience within a complex health care setting or Acute NHS setting working as a deputy Manager Band 6 position including the supervision and education of junior staff/ students .
*Can demonstrate understanding / experience / in practice based supervision / assessment as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council ( NMC ) standards for student supervision and assessment
*Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting.
*Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with the clinical service.
*Evidence of effective multi-professional working.
*Experience of being a mentor
*Demonstration of a significant contribution to innovative practice or change management
*Experience in interviewing and selection of staff
*Experience in learning from incidents /complaints and supporting changes in practice
*Demonstrate an ability, experience, passion in the following areas. (E )
