Position: Senior Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering (San Jose, California)
Duties: Perform prototype silicon characterization at bench level. Conduct initial operating review of the silicon for the design team, troubleshoot and provide early silicon bug reporting, correlation, data collection and analysis, and generate/present technical reports. Create printed circuit board (PCB) schematics for device under test (DUT) characterization and design validation. Develop programs in Python/LabVIEW to automate bench test equipment for silicon validation. Create evaluation plans for new designs and correlate with production test plans. Perform robustness testing including latch-up, Abs Max Ratings, and POR testing. Work as part of an evaluation team collaboratively with other applications, design, product, and test engineers.
Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field (or foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related role performing analysis and debugging of analog and digital circuits or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or related role performing analysis and debugging of analog and digital circuits. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated Experience (DE) performing bench characterization of switching power supplies during development stage using bench equipment such as electronic power supplies, electronic or resistive loads, digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscope, function generators; DE performing robustness testing, stress analysis, thermal analysis, power loss and efficiency, stability analysis (transient, bode, regulation), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and other performance and functional tests of switching power supplies under various temperature conditions; DE conducting simulations and performing circuit analysis using tools such as LTSpice and PADs logic for schematic and PCB design; DE performing diagnosis, evaluation and debugging of power converters using digital interface such as Power Management Bus (PMBUS) and I2C communication; and DE evaluating component selection, magnetic design and testing, and control loop analysis for various power converters topologies.

Salary: $123,280.00 - $184,920.00/year
