Purpose

Provide administrative support for international student and scholar programming and initiatives. Assist with and participate in the implementation of events and provision of front desk services for the international population. Work as a highly functioning, collaborative member of the intercultural programming and initiatives team and International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative support for international student and scholar programs, including scheduling, document preparation, and managing shared inboxes and communications.  Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing events, workshops, and orientation activities for the international student and scholar community.  Support budget tracking and reconciliation tasks, such as processing reimbursements, organizing receipts, and maintaining financial records.

  • Maintain organized digital and physical files, update internal databases, and help ensure smooth daily operations of the ISSS office.  Occasionally, staff the front desk by welcoming visitors, answering phone calls and emails, directing inquiries, and ensuring excellent customer service to students, scholars, and campus partners.  Other duties as assigned: Collaborate closely with the intercultural programming team and ISSS staff to support ongoing projects and contribute to a positive, inclusive office environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience. Strong organizational, record-keeping, and documentation skills. Successful experience planning and organizing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated proficiency working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with populations representing different backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities. Demonstrated adaptability with the use of various platforms in the performance of office functions. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and beginner-level skills with web design software. Experience living or studying abroad.

Hourly Rate

$22.00
 

Working Conditions

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 40

  • Work hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • May be required to support occasional early evening or weekend event. On such days, can flex your schedule.
