Senior Integration & Test Engineer – Space Vehicle Systems Integration & Test Lead

We're seeking an action-oriented, intellectually curious engineer who is excited to put their potential to use leading teams and testing space flight hardware.  The position will be a lead, deputy lead, or floor lead for the Assembly, Integration, and Test effort for a spacecraft and space vehicle mission.

 

You will work closely with, and be mentored by, experts in the field.  You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the AI&T process from bus assembly through shipping and launch operations of the integrated space vehicle.  This will require a strong balance of technical experience, project engineering, and excellent communication skills.

 

Note: AI&T is also known as systems integration and test (SI&T), assembly, test and launch operations (ATLO), missions systems integration and test (MSIT), and other names throughout the industry.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment leading the integration and test of spacecraft hardware.
  • Build and manage a team that can work closely to overcome challenges.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and staffing predictions and control project scope.
  • Plan the spacecraft / space vehicle assembly, integration, test, and launch operations effort (including the sequence of activities, required facilities, special test equipment, personnel, schedule, risks, and opportunities)
  • Prepare and give presentations to your team, management, customers, and partners.
  • Collaborate with program management, system and subsystem engineers, mission assurance, technicians, and other program personnel.
  • Assess, summarize, and effectively communicate the status and needs of complex technical tasks to peers and company management.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation.
  • Support meetings with program management, Ball management, customers, and partners (including traveling to other locations for these meetings when required).
  • Support shipping and launch campaigns.
  • Provide estimates for both execution of existing work and for changes in scope.
  • Work in cleanroom and lab environments to verify the hardware meets requirements and characterize / calibrate its performance.
