About the role

 

 At Azure DevOps, we deliver mission critical services that are used by millions of developers. Our enterprise customers (including Microsoft) are using Azure DevOps to collaboratively build apps & services and securely deploy them to production. This team builds a suite of microservices to support the scaling and reliability needs of the platform, which runs some of the largest, most complex & demanding devops workloads in the industry. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join this team of engineers who thrive solving complex problems at-scale.

 

The Azure DevOps R3 team is within Azure DevOps that owns multiple experiences in the product and platform services that the whole Azure DevOps organization builds on top of to provide a available, scalable, and performant experiences to millions of customers world-wide. Our team is geographically distributed within North America and supports a collaborative culture, processes, and tools that bring together managers and contributors to plan, develop, deploy, and support software.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and support features, experiences and solutions primarily in C#, SQL, ASP.Net, HTML5, React, Typescript, PowerShell, and Azure ​ 
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to build new features ​ 
  • Support highly available services used by millions of users on a daily basis ​ 
  • Work with support to triage and debug technical support requests​ 
  • Analyze how your features are performing in production to learn and make the product better ​ 
  • Pair and participate in code reviews with other engineers in your team
  • Other

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience with Full stack development.

Other Requirements:

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in microservice architecture & distributed system.

 

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
