Senior Research Associate, Genomics Research

The Position:    

Our team is growing, and we are on the hunt for a Senior Research Associate, Genomics Research to join our immune-oncology team. In this role, you will assist in bench research, where you will contribute to crucial data packages that will enable our novel therapeutics to go from bench to bedside.  

As a Senior Research Associate, you will work closely with senior staff and manage sequencing experiments in-house and at Contract Research Organizations (CROs). You will perform RNA/DNA extraction from tissue, prepare high quality NGS libraries and perform QC assays to confirm library quality. You will be optimizing workflow for single cell RNA sequencing and working with 10x Chromium instrument. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

You will be making a significant impact by... 

• Production of high quality next-generation sequencing libraries for a wide variety of applications using automated and/or manual methods. 
• Perform assays to check the quality of RNA, cDNA and library prep. 
• Manage outsourced sequencing studies being performed at Contract Research Organizations. 
• Assist in ordering supplies, inventory management, making reagents, and maintaining a safe and high performing laboratory. 
• Maintain accurate and thorough lab records, and documentation. As well as, updating records in a timely manner. 
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. And assist other members of the team as needed. 
• Conduct experiments, troubleshoot, and optimize, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues to meet deadlines. 
• Contributing culturally to a dynamic and rapidly growing research organization. 

 

As an excellent candidate, you will possess... 

• B.S or M.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with at least 3+ years of laboratory experience in an industry and/or academic setting. 
• Proficiency with DNA Library prep is a must.  
• Proficiency with tissue culture techniques is a requirement. 
• Experience in single cell RNA sequencing and 10X Chromium instrument is required. 
• Experience with a wide range of cellular and biochemical assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Western Blots, and molecular biology is preferred. 
• Ability to work independently to design experiments, interpret data and troubleshoot problems. 
• Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and effective communication skills.
