Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a highly motivated Account Technician I. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, task orientated, and an organized individual with attention to detail. Essential Functions

• Prepares and audits complex financial documents, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Comptroller's Statewide Accounting Management System.
• Maintains center's employee time and attendance records.
• Prepares Payroll Time Report.
• Maintains complete and accurate filing system.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
• Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.

• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience preparing and auditing complex financial documents.
• Prefers at least two (2) years of experience processing employee timekeeping and attendance records.
