What You’ll Do 

We are seeking an innovative and strategic Senior Director of Application Development to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of SharkNinja’s mobile and software application ecosystem. This role is pivotal to our enterprise digital transformation, with direct accountability for defining and advancing the end-to-end connected product experience across multiple platforms and business units.

As a senior leader, you will drive the long-term application development strategy, align cross-functional teams, and ensure our digital products deliver competitive differentiation and customer delight. This role has significant visibility and impact on SharkNinja’s broader product and technology roadmap, directly influencing business growth, consumer engagement, and product innovation across our global portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Operationalize enterprise application development strategy, aligning mobile and software platforms with SharkNinja’s overall product and digital transformation goals.
• Lead and scale high-performing teams across mobile, cloud, and embedded application layers, fostering technical excellence and a strong engineering culture.
• Define and evolve the application architecture strategy, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and performance across platforms.
• Partner with executive leadership, product management, design, hardware, and data teams to architect and deliver cohesive, best-in-class digital experiences.
• Influence product innovation by leveraging digital capabilities, user data insights, and emerging technologies to shape product and business strategies.
• Lead application development efforts across multiple product categories, ensuring platform reuse, speed-to-market, and customer-centric design.
• Drive continuous improvement in development operations, Agile methodologies, DevOps tooling, and cross-functional workflows.
• Establish strategic external partnerships (e.g., platforms, vendors, open-source communities) that accelerate digital capabilities and business outcomes.
• Represent application development at the senior leadership level, providing thought leadership, strategic direction, and roadmap alignment across functions.

  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing application or software engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering mobile and cloud-based applications at scale, ideally within a consumer electronics or IoT environment.
• Strong technical background with proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (e.g., Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Node.js, AWS/GCP).
• Track record of building high-performing teams and mentoring technical leaders.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and scalable architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
