This position will require travel both by air and car (personal and/or rental). This position may support a remote working situation.
Purpose
Serve as a member of a collaborative team of professional learning specialists to develop tools and services and facilitate professional learning and technical assistance, particularly in math education, in support of building capacity of and increasing quality in educational systems. Work at the state- and system-level at scale through higher education and/or K-12 systems as part of the Dana Center’s Professional Learning and Implementation Team. Support the work of multiple projects, in multiple systems and states.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and coordinate research-based products and protocols to meet the needs of higher education and/or K-12 systems, institutions, districts, and schools in the areas of high-quality curriculum and instruction, policy implementation, and educational leadership with a focus on implementation of modern math pathways.
Work directly with states and systems to plan and facilitate professional learning and technical assistance with higher education and/or K-12 educators and administrators, utilizing a wide range of delivery and dissemination strategies.
Coordinate logistics, details, and budgets of projects and programs as assigned. Collaborate and communicate with other members of project teams as appropriate.
Support the Center's work by disseminating information and communicating with educators in higher education and/or K-12 systems, professional associations, and other organizations. Assist in generating partnership leads. Contribute to development of marketing and informational publications.
Participate in cross-functional teams and perform related functions as assigned.
Participate in processes and activities designed to establish an organizational culture that supports learning, collaboration, and collective responsibility in order to enhance professional relationships, job satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Education, Policy, Public Policy, Mathematics, Math Education, or related field. Knowledge of higher education and K-12 systems. At least five years of experience teaching postsecondary math and/or institution level support of math programs and/or design and facilitation of adult learning. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working on projects serving underserved communities. Experience working with higher education and/or K-12 administrators and faculty on systems change. Experience developing written resources, communications or tools for the use by others. Demonstrated leadership skills as a department chair or project lead. Understanding of current trends in math pathways or guided pathways. Experience developing online and digital resources.
Salary Range
$81,000 - $91,000
