Field Technician

Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is looking for a Field Technician to join our industry leading Abednego Environmental Services LLC team. In this position you will provide customers with problem solving support, generating a high level of customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do:

• Perform daily water quality analysis:
  • pH
  • Conductivity
  • Bacteria
  • Turbidity
  • Alkalinity
  • Solid’s testing
• Booth balance:
  • Air flow measurements
  • Temp/humidity monitoring
  • Monitor air filtration and manage filter change schedule
• Monitoring the chemical feed system:
  • Maintain chemical inventory
  • Interfacing with the chemical vendor weekly
  • Make chemical adjustments to the system
  • Maintain spare parts and consumables inventory
• Troubleshooting systems as needed:
  • Supply/Exhaust fans
  • Multiple valve configurations
  • Pump performance and tuning
  • Air flow performance
• Reviewing and generating daily documentation and monthly reports
  • Microsoft office

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite

Location Specifics:

Location: Detroit, MI

Schedule: 2nd shift - 2 PM- 10 PM

Pay Range: $22 - 24/hr

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to physically perform the essential duties of the position which include lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, talking and hearing
• Must be able to wear a respirator under certain conditions
• Must be able to pass a drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills: proven ability to interface positively and professionally with the customer

• Ability to analyze readings and put data in a spreadsheet in a logical manner
• Possess above-average verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to explain results of data gatherings\
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences
