Position Summary

The Global Medical Director leads the Medical Strategy and Safety function within Clinical and Medical Affairs (CMA), serving as the medical expert across the organization and a key member of a global, cross-functional team. This role contributes to improving patient outcomes by ensuring the safe and effective integration of Teleflex products, procedures, and educational programs into clinical practice. The Global Medical Director provides medical leadership and expertise regarding product safety, efficacy, clinical evidence, approved indications, precautions, warnings, and emerging products. The role is responsible for delivering proactive and responsive medical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, supporting the responsible use of Teleflex products throughout the product lifecycle, including the assessment of unsolicited off-label inquiries related to FDA-cleared products. As a subject matter expert, the Global Medical Director drives medical strategy, leads complex cross-functional initiatives, and partners across CMA and other functions to address clinical and scientific challenges. The position plays a critical role in generating and communicating scientific evidence, identifying and overcoming barriers to product adoption, and supporting physician engagement activities worldwide. Through peer-to-peer interactions, scientific exchange, and strategic stakeholder collaboration, the Global Medical Director helps advance patient safety, optimize clinical outcomes, and promote the appropriate utilization of Teleflex products.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Lead the Medical Safety function, including direct oversight, development, and management of the Medical Safety team, ensuring robust safety surveillance, risk assessment, and medical governance process.
•    Partner with Research & Development and cross-functional stakeholders to support product innovation, lifecycle management, and product enhancements. Contribute clinical and medical expertise to product strategy, development plans, and key business initiatives.
•    Support business development activities by providing clinical and scientific expertise across urology and related therapeutic areas, evaluating new opportunities, technologies, partnerships, and acquisition targets.
•    Represent the company at scientific congresses and professional meetings through presentations, scientific exchange, thought leader engagement, exhibit support, and participation in customer-focused educational programs. Advance scientific communication efforts globally.
•    Collaborate with Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs teams to design and execute clinical research programs, including protocol development, endpoint selection, data collection strategies, and study oversight.
•    Provide medical and scientific leadership for clinical studies, including investigator and site selection, study conduct, data interpretation, publication planning, and support of regulatory submissions worldwide.
•    Serve as a physician-to-physician medical resource for advanced product utilization, clinical application, and complex medical inquiries. Provide medical oversight for product safety assessments and benefit-risk evaluations.
