Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations
This role is responsible for providing strategic support, operational management, and project oversight to ensure the effective functioning of the People division. This role will collaborate closely with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the CPO Leadership Team (CPOLT) to drive key initiatives and facilitate effective and engaging communication and collaboration across the function.
Job Responsibilities
Create and apply operational structures, procedures, workflows, and systems to make the best use of the CPO and CPOLT's skills, time, and energy.
Supervise the daily management system of the People division and keep track of the progress and give updates to the CPO and relevant CPOLT.
Find and solve operational problems, actively looking for solutions and best practices to enhance team performance and efficiency.
Plan, implement and run meetings cadence for the CPOLT, including, but not limited to: Weekly Staff Meetings, Quarterly CPOLT Retreats, Strategic Design Workshops, Quarterly Budget Reviews, and HR Priority Progress Reviews.
Help with getting ready for key meetings and reviews, including checking all materials (i.e., Board of Director, ELT Staff Meetings and Retreats, Monthly Operational Reviews, Annual Priorities Reviews, HR Town Halls, HR Engagement events, Focus Groups, etc.).
Coordinate with CPO Executive Assistant and act as a main contact between the CPO and internal/external stakeholders and partner G&A divisions, building strong relationships and clear communication.
Support cross-divisional cooperation within the People division and identify obstacles to ensure harmony.
Work with CPO Executive Assistant and Internal Communications to plan agendas and key messages of events throughout the year.
Provide Chief People Officer and CPOLT with suitable content and points to discuss for both oral and written events.
Find and suggest ways to increase engagement within the People division according to athenahealth’s values and our DEI commitments.
Partner with key People initiative leads to support progress and troubleshoot challenges.
Assist in preparation for key ELT level reviews.
Canvas organization for on-the-ground insights and or barriers to change.
Typical Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in a business management or executive role, preferably within a Human Resources organization
Solid strategic and analytical skills, with the capacity to turn complicated concepts into practical plans.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and completing cross-functional projects.
Expert communication and presentation skills, with the skill to communicate complex ideas to different audiences effectively.
Assertive leadership and team management skills, with an emphasis on creating a cooperative and respectful work culture.
Proven ability to establish strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
High standard of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Skilled in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software applications.
Must possess strong organizational, process, problem-solving and teamwork skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Comfort working and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
